| | | | Lomonosov Pocelain of St Petersburg(Reference #Details) Lomonosov Pocelain of St Petersburg - A combination of tradition, exclusiveness and beauty. In 1744 a porcelain factory was founded in the environs of St. Petersburg, which laid the foundation of the Russian Pocelain industry. It is the oldest pocelain factory in Russia and third oldest in Europe. The sientist D I Vinogradov evolved the pocelain manufacturing with regard to the local raw materials. All this happened at the time of Tsarina Elizabeth, daughter of Tsar Peter I. Especially for her a decoration was created in 1750 - a net decoration in purple and gold - the ancestry of today's well-known decoration in blue and gold - the cobalt net. At the very begining the factory supplied only the needs of the Tsar's Court, a small scale production painted by trained porcelain painters.
